Local High School Becomes Sanctuary for Endangered Steelhead Trout
In a remarkable initiative, Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California, is stepping up as a refuge for the endangered southern steelhead trout. Recently, the school held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a state-of-the-art facility designed to rescue and house these vulnerable fish. The facility, constructed in partnership with the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, will serve as a vital temporary sanctuary for the trout, especially in the wake of natural disasters.
